Kalyanotsavam can be attended by anyone but if you want to participate in the ritual a charge of Rs 1116/- is levied.
All the three temples have high energy levels and ideal places for meditation as there is not much disturbances from excessive crowds. Though i ordered bananas to feed them for the next day in advance at the stall, he could not procure them due to winds and rains. I saw lots of cows from nearby villages wandering in and around temple. But they get over by 11AM especially on Sundays and holidays. They do keep some mallepulu and bananas in limited quantities. Coconuts, kumkum and Agarbathi's are sold in a stall adjacent to the Temple. Before going to this Temple, i suggest that you buy Flowers and Fruits from Rapur itself as they are not available in Penchalakona. Visit Hanuman Temple, Adi Lakshmi Devi temple and then Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in that order Temple closes around 12:30 pm and there is no activity till 04:00 pm. First visit Gonupalli Swamy Temple before coming to Penchalakona. When visiting the Temple a pious man has given following advise: 1. So better carry some bedsheets and air pillows for hygiene sake.
They do not give any bedsheets or pillow covers nor seem to change the old ones. Its a spacious One Bed suite but not kept well. Reluctantly the same person told that he has key with him for only one room in ground floor and gave it to me. I immeduately went to office with a request to give their room. When i reached their office near the Temple and asked for accomodation, i was told that there are no rooms and asked me to go to Private Lodge. Then when i walked to the guest house (2 storey bldg) on the right side when going to temple, i saw one family vacating. We stayed at the Devasthanam Guest house.I called them before going, only to be told that there is no advance booking. From Rapur buses go towards Penchalakona every hour from 7:30 AM. Its takes about 90 min to 120 min to go to Rapur from Nellore. The earlier you reach the better, if you are planning to attend kalyanotsavam at the Temple which starts at 10:30 AM daily. There are buses going from Nellore to Rapur every 30 min starting from 4:30 AM in the morning. Its better to either take a train or Multi Axle Volvo/Benz/Scania Bus upto Nellore. But the bus being a "Super Luxury" bus was not comfortable. I travelled by APSRTC bus from Hyderabad to Rapur thinking that its a direct connection. We were lucky that weather was in our favour due to unexpected Rains in Penchalakona. I have visited Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in May 2016.
